The Kibagare Community Feeding Programm is famously known as "Chawahindi" every Saturday of each month. Children from Kibagare and nearby villages gather at St Martin's School gate, waiting for their turns to enter the school and get served food. This is a full lunch, including a plate of beans, rice, cabbages, a packet of milk and a banana.

Picture showing the looks of Kibagare road on a typical rainy day. The unpaved highway made different from aggregated streets; during rainy seasons, it is hard for water to drain off. These water logs and makes it impassable for even vehicles to pass. During these seasons, children have no other option other than to walk on this road to school every day to attend classes.

On Saturday, Kuumba Scholarship Co-Founders and Alumni had a meeting with the St Martins form fours to officially Launch Kuumba Scholarship 2021 Application. This meeting included a brief of what the Kuumba Scholarship is all about, a brief on African Leadership University, what the scholarship entails and insights from Kuumba Scholars. In the meeting, the Form Fours were also motivated to work hard and wish them a stroke of good luck in their upcoming Examinations.

St Martins Highschool Form Four's, otherwise known as a senior year or 12th grade students, will start their national exams; Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education(K.C.S.E) on 22nd March. This exam period would take a whole month approximately. These exams cover all they have learnt in different subjects in their four years spent in high school and determines whether a student would join University or not, depending on performance.

On Friday June 4th, we had our third annual univeristy scholarship workshop at ST.Martins School Kibagare. We were thrilled to have a total of 28 applicants who applied for the scholarship this year. Following activities that took place, we had seven finalist who qualified for the interviews. The day was a success all thanks to our great favilitators who took their time and effort.

Winner of the third annual Kuumba University Scholarship to African Leadership University!! Meet Rose Njoki Munyua, born and raised in Kiambu, Kenya. She is 19 years old and a recent graduate of St.Martins Secondary School in the Kibbagre settlement where she emerged as one of the top academic students in her class and a shining star in the journalism club. She has proven herself. Rose will be sponsored by aspire, an educational dreams initiative by celonis co-founders. Congratulations Rose!

Susan was born and raised in the Kibagare slum in Nairobi in a family of 7 members. She attended St.Martins Primary School from 2004-2014. She was unable to join highschool due to luck of fees but thanks to the sponsorship program, she was admitted to St.Martins Secondary School in 2016 and graduated in 2020. Her mother runs a convenience store just outside their house.  Susan is an actual definition of NEVER GIVING UP!! She was the school games captain, and due to her leadership, the school football team prevailed and won many matches. Susan is well disciplined with good leadership skills. She is passionate about sports and would like to pursue a course in Nursing at the Kenya Medical Training Colledge.

Meet Onyamwaro Shadeh Davina: Beneficiary of Kuumba Local Univeristy Sponsorship Shadeh was born and raised in Nairobi county in a family of 7. She lives with both of her parents; her father who runs a small textile business. She is currently 19 years old and she joined St.Martins in the year 2019 as an 11th-grade student. Shadeh is a very hardworking individual and has excellent leadership skills with the hunger to achieve greatness. She was the treasurer of the Young Catholic Society(YCS) club and the scout’s movement commander. She is a great team player and self-driven. She was one of the top performers in the national exams in her class. Shadeh is passionate about everything she puts her heart into and would like to pursue a course in Software Engineering and Development. Congratulations Shadeh, your hard work has paid off!!

Winner of the Technology Grant. Meet Kevina! Kevina was born and raised in Nairobi from a family of 4. Kevina now lives with her mother. Kevina joined St.Martins Secondary school in the year 2017 as a 9th-grader. Her mother works as a nurse. Kevina is currently 18 years old. She is very bright with great leadership skills. She was the Chief Editor of the Journalism Club. She was one of the top performers in her class. She is passionate about the business industry and would like to pursue a course in Acturial Science. Congratulations Kevina, your hard work has paid off!
