Kuumba Development
For almost a decade, we have built a sustainable educational environment for children in the Kibagare informal settlement, Nairobi Kenya.
The Kuumba mission, to create the space for personal and professional growth for spectacular students living in severe poverty in East Africa, acknowledges the challenge our recipients have before we meet them.
We look for partnerships and projects which can provide sustainable relief to the most significant infringements to education. We apply the Kuumba operating principle of 100% of investments focusing on:
education and leadership development
the democratization of technology and reduction of the digital divide
sustainable health and wellbeing for vulnerable students, particularly females
economic development of the communities in which we serve
Kuumba's operating principle
sustainability
empowerment instead of aid
local sourcing
less than zero administrative costs and overhead
